As per the Ordinance of the University of Mumbai 0.6086 dated 05/05/2014, 75% attendance at Lectures per course is mandatory.
Students joining this college are required to read and accept the provisions of the rules under Autonomy in the College Handbook 2018 Section 5.6, page 34
The college expects 100% attendance at all lectures/practicals per chosen course. As there legitimate reasons as to why 100% attendance is not possible, a minimum of 75% per course is made mandatory. (Refer the ordinance stated above).
A student with less than 75% attendance in a course (including tutorials) will not be allowed to appear for the ESE in that Course.
A condonation upto 50% of lectures/practicals per course could be made at the discretion of the Principal, in the following cases: Serious illness authenticated by a Doctor’s certificate and medical records and submitted within 2 working days of resuming classes.
UNDERTAKING
By filling the form and if granted admissions I hereby agree to abide by the College Rules regarding attendance, viz., that if my attendance is found to be unsatisfactory, I shall not be permitted to give the Semester Examinations.
By filling the form and if granted admissions I am aware of the rules and laws regarding Ragging and agree to abide by any punishment meted out to me if I indulge in or instigate ragging.
By filling the form and if granted admissions I hereby accept the college policy that students who have serious complaints of indiscipline against them, during the year, will not be re-admitted to the College in future. The decision of the Principal, in this matter, will be final.
By filling the form and if granted admissions I accept that I will not be granted terms unless:
I have attended at least 75% of the lectures and tutorials per course and practical in each semester.
My journals in the subjects where practicals are prescribed are certified by the departments concerned.
My performance at the examinations are satisfactory.
By filling the form and if granted admissions, I accept all the above conditions. I affirm that I am aware that St. Xavier’s College is an Autonomous College under the University of Mumbai and that I am agreeable to the Rules and Regulations of the College an accept the decisions of the Principal in all matters as final.
